Anyway – Welcome!

Or as we say in Malaysia, Selamat Datang!

Which directly translated means “Safely Come” (No, I’m not going to ‘go there’)

I am a Stand Up Comedian.

Have been a professional one since 1990 which is a pretty long time if you ask me. In fact, I was the first Stand Up Comedian –

which is why people call me the "Godfather of Stand-Up Comedy in Malaysia”

But I don’t just do one thing. No. I am also a Film/TV/Stage Director, Writer, Actor plus I am the host/co-producer of my own late night talk show – Obviously Harith Iskander – which is on 24 hour Awani news channel (available on satellite TV, Astro) and can be viewed online at www.obviouslyharith.com

Apart from that I do the occasional trainings for corporates who want to inject some humour into otherwise sleep-inducing events.

Oh, wait a minute. Am I not supposed to say that?

What I meant to say if I have certain skills at presenting very serious points in a completely professional manner thereby encouraging staff to perform better.

Recently people have asked me why I don’t run as a member of parliament to which I say … I don’t run. Period. It’s too much cardio for me.

Winner “Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person In The World 2016”, Harith Iskander is a Malaysian actor and comedian.

Known as the Godfather of Stand-Up Comedy in Malaysia, he also won Asia’s Best Stand-Up Comedian Award 2014 by Top 10 of Asia Magazine.

He is also the curator of the biggest stand-up comedy festival in Asia, the KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL which was held twice in 2015 and 2017.

Since 1991, Harith has performed ‘live’ at hundreds (if not thousands) or shows and entertained thousands (if not millions) of people with his unique and original materials. His comedy performance is in great demand and company functions are never complete without Harith inevitably bringing the house down with his routine.

In 2012, Harith headlined the “Best Of Malaysia Comedy Tour” which covered shows at both the Brisbane and Melbourne Comedy Festival as well as shows in Sydney.

In October 2014, Harith became the first Malaysian Stand Up Comedian to hold a show in a stadium - ‘Harith Iskander’s To Know Malaysia Is To Laugh Malaysia’ saw 9000 people fill up the Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil and set a record of sorts in the local stand-up comedy scene by being the biggest show ever in the history of stand-up comedy in Malaysia. So far. Just prior to that Harith embarked on a six-nation comedy tour titled “The Godfather of Malaysian Stand Up Comedy International Tour” where he performed to audiences in India (Chennai/New Delhi), Korea (Seoul), Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia (Perth) and Indonesia (Jakarta).
